Library is committed to five laws of library science formulated by father of library science in India, Dr. S. R. Ranganathan.The college was established in the year 1963 with civil & rural engg. Branch of 120 intakes earlier it was known as Rural Institute where three branches namely art, agriculture and polytechnic were working together in the same premises. The library is common to all branches.
In the year 1973, polytechnic has been handed over to Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai. In the year 1995 mechanical branch has been started 60 intake capacity. Presently the library is housed in 300 Sq. meter area where in there is a separate Reading Room, Reference Section, Issue Counter, Stack Rooms and Bound Volume section. The capacity of the reading room is to accommodate 80 readers. Separate arrangement is done for faculties in the library.
Mission of the ASP LIBRARY
“To assess, acquire process and disseminate the information and knowledge for teaching-learning and research activity to the faculty, students whenever required for developing a knowledge society.”

- To support the students for cultivating their reading habits and their overall development in general and academically in specific.

Library Infrastructure:
The library is having 300 sq. m area including reading room . The library has one server and 1 client PC’s, 1 Laser Printer, 1 Bar code Printer, 2 Bar code Reader etc. The library sections are connected through LAN for the users to access OPAC, CD-Rom and online databases and e-resources. An UPS is installed to ensure uninterrupted, fluctuation free power supply to computers of library. The library is computerized with software developed by Syncronik Software Nagpur.

Training Programme Organized:
Librarian has conducted one national and two state level training programme for the Librarian /Asst Librarian in Maharashtra.
- ISTE approved self-finance two weeks training programme on “Modern Techniques of Library and Information Management” during 3rd may 2004 to 12th may 2004.
- MSBTE Mumbai sponsored STTP on “Recent Trends in Library Automation ”From 17/01/2005 to 21/01/2005
- MSBTE Mumbai sponsored “Information Services to Small Scale Industries” form 11/02/2008 to 15/02/2008
Library procedure for book selection and purchases:
While selection of books for purchasing, recommendations from respective department heads as well as staff are taken and purchases are made accordingly from local book seller. Quotations need not be called for purchasing, as books item are excluded by finance department. Students are also asked to give their suggestion for book purchases.
Separate accession registers for grant in aid, non-grant, social welfare, shiksha mandal book bank and World Bank is maintained. Books are classified according to Dewey decimal classification scheme.
The collection of college library helps for the students for their fulfillment of knowledge hunger and thirst of study, while for the staff it helps in the teaching and research process. The library comprises books and journals in Science, Engineering and Technology. The library collection is developed through grants received from DTE as well as funds allocated from non-grant courses. Today library is having 14232 books and 411 bound volumes of journals.

f) Social welfare Book Bank scheme for SC & ST students.
Under this scheme three books will be issued to scholarship holders SC and ST students this scheme is governed by central and state government.
g) Books on security deposit:-
Under this scheme books will be issued by depositing cost of book as security which is refundable after term end examination.
h) Books for merit students:-
Under this scheme six books will be issued to the toppers previous semester without taking security deposit. This scheme is started to encourage students to score higher percentage.
i) Books for physically handicapped :-
Under this Scheme six books will be issued for the semester without security.
j) Reference Services:-
Under these services students are guided regarding the information sources for their projects and seminars. The library is opened for reference and consultation to all its members. The staff members provide assistance to users in locating information or procuring document of their choice. Members, students, research scholars and faculty members from institution can use the library. The reference books are not issued at home. The paper set and magazines are consulted in reading room only. List of new books purchase will be displayed on notice board.
3)Library furniture and equipments – Rs. 274000/-Total Library Collection (31/03/2019) Library Services: Relevance of available learning resources including e- resources:Our institution is a grant in aid institution with fixed library grant that is 11800/ along with library fees from admitted student per year which is utilized for purchasing of books and journals.The course work is governed by the MSBTE which also designs the syllabus. The learning material is purchased taking into the consideration the present scheme of teaching. Books are purchased as recommended by MSBTE as well as by the teaching staff and students.The collection of library contains textbook, reference books, general reference collections which includes BhartiyaVishwaKosh, Marathi Vishwakosh as well as Gandhian literature. We have technical journals of Indian publications as well as bound volumes along with CD/DVDs.Accessibility to Students:To get access to the available resources, students have given OPEN ACCESS to the stockroom so that they can see and choose the resources of their choices and read it in the reading room as well can lend it to home.To select books for reading, an ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOGUE (OPAC) is made available at the issuing counter. They have given borrower ID so that they can issue two books at a time for home lending.To provide access to remote resources, we have subscribed DELNET so that students can come to know the availabity of resources and with whom. Our institution is a member of National Digital Library (NDL) and students also being informed and encouraged to become the member of NDL.
